Forests cool the air, steady the water, shelter wildlife, and hold more carbon than the atmosphere itself. Losing them is not just losing trees — it's unravelling the systems we all depend on.

Carbon sinks

A growing tree locks carbon into wood, branch by branch. Standing forests hold more carbon than the entire atmosphere, and they do it for free.

Water and air

Trees pull water from the soil and release it as mist, seeding clouds and steadying rainfall for entire regions far beyond the forest edge.

Biodiversity

More than 80% of the species on land call forests home. The canopy is a sky city — parrots, orchids, monkeys, and moss all share one roof.

Climate stability

Forests shade the ground, cool the air through transpiration, and soften the shock of heat, drought, and storms on the land around them.
